Brad Pitt’s production company, Plan B Entertainment, has informed Max Brooks (the author of World War Z) that Brad Pitt himself will star in the film version of his book, according to MTV. Plan B got the rights to the movie after winning a price war with Appian Way, Leonardo DiCaprio’s company. Now, with Pitt signed on to star in the film, it looks like a real Zombie movie might actually be in the works.

The book is about a world-wide outbreak of zombies, and is recounted by the survivors in horrific, first-hand detail. The script has been written and now re-written, with the final writing by Matthew Michael Carnahan.

Brooks’ other two books: “The Zombie Survival Guide,” and “Recorded Attacks,” have been optioned by Paramount. Apparently we are about to be inundated with Zombie movies! No word yet on whether they’ll be in 3D, but the odds are good, eh?
