VIRTUA TENNIS 4 ANNOUNCED FOR PLAYSTATION 3 WITH FULL COMPATIBILITY FOR MOVE AND 3D
Sony’s PlayStation 3 motion system Move is on the move (c what I did!) this week at Gamescom and nothing seems to be able to stop it. Not to stand in the way of a locomotive, here is the press release that Sega sent out about Virtua Tennis 4 and the PS Move.
SAN FRANCISCO & LONDON (August 17th, 2010) –SEGA® of America, Inc. and SEGA® Europe Ltd. are thrilled to announce that the critically acclaimed Virtua Tennis™ series is in development for PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, featuring full PlayStation®Move compatibility and 3D technology.
Developed in Japan by the original Virtua Tennis Team, Virtua Tennis 4, releasing in 2011, promises a more immersive, true to life tennis experience than ever before. Virtua Tennis 4 with the PlayStation Move is more than just hitting the ball; it’s about the angle of the racquet, the spin and speed of the ball and the power of the shot. The advanced motion sensors of PlayStation Move precisely track both the fast and subtle movements of the controller allowing for pinpoint accurate shots as players improve their racquet skills.

Gamasutra – News – Ubisoft: 3D Market To Be Limited In First Year
Although 3D is one key way to differentiate high-end AAA gaming experiences, Ubisoft is approaching the emerging arena with caution, predicting sales will be limited in the first year when prices for the capable televisions are so high.
“I think we will see lots of bundles with 3D monitors… and they will be small sales in stores — in game stores,” says CEO Yves Guillemot, speaking today on the company’s call to investors alongside Ubisoft’s first quarter results. “But it will be very strong next year, at the end of next year, which means… November, December next year will normally be the time when we will start to see very good sales on those products.”

Unprecedented simultaneous 3D: World Cup, 3 top 5 movies | Hollywood in HiDef
Seven months ago in the pre-”Avatar” world, no one would have imagined this weekend, when, for several hours on Saturday and Sunday, five of the entertainment and sports industries’ biggest events would be playing in 3D simultaneously on TVs and in theaters.

As the 2010 FIFA World Cup Final was being played live in select theaters and on ESPN 3D Sunday and the third place match on Saturday, the first-ever Major League Baseball games in 3DTV were being broadcast — the Yankees in Seattle — and an unprecedented three major movies from three different studios were showing in theaters.
Those three theatrical films were not just showing in theaters, they accounted for three of the top five spots and $100 million over the post holiday weekend July 9-11.
